Vogt and Maguire was founded in 1895 by Johan Vogt, who left Norway for the UK, looking to enter the shipping industry. Over 125 years later, the company still remains in the hands of the Vogt family, with the third and fourth generations currently managing the business.

Activities across the years have included ship ownership, sale and purchase broking including newbuilding contracting, demolition and valuations, chartering broking, panellists for various shipping indices, liner agency and forwarding.

From our offices in London the current focus is on ship owning and sale and purchase for our long standing clients. We have close partnerships of many decades with Faversham Ships of the UK and Regal Agencies of Greece who carry out the technical management of our partnership fleet, and we have a commercial office in Holland, Faversham Ships BV, which handles the day to day chartering activities of our coastal vessels. We pride ourselves on traditional values, many years of shipping experience, excellent worldwide contacts, innovation and discretion.
